Dennis Hinrichsen

drip-dry buffalo

I had a hunch I was poised I was answerable
to moss fanning myself dry with torn flags
mercy the grass
mercy the drool
even wounds have their curfews
the blind minnow fury right before sleep
I had a calling and a flame once
a blue beach free-base catatonia
dreaming up a call back
now cyphers
and kowtows the domino spill of eons
be gone!, Tuesday!
be gone!, this summons to a daylong wallop!

Dennis Hinrichsen has a new book out in 2026, dementia lyrics, from Green Linden Press. He has new poems out at Blackbird, Posit and Waxwing and soon at Heavy Feather Review, Handwritten & Co. and Notre Dame Review.
