Samuel Wu
Pebble
I was walking beneath the painted sun
when I heard God say pssttt. I waddled over
and God opened her hand. And you would not
believe the pebble she showed me. It was
beautiful – painted stars on the smooth sky.
It was beautiful – painted stripes across the
water. It was beautiful – it reminded me of you,
and God knew it. I stood there for days, and then
God said pssttt. Take it home to her. Then God walked away,
beyond the glass, and I ran all the way to you.
